We have reached another year of celebration. The cheer, joy,food,drinks,music, laughter and gift giving is tradition and excitement for many. With many also take this time to reflect on the birth of a little baby boy many centuries ago.
Whatever the reason is to you, we have reached Christmas 2018 and bringing in newness into our lives. The Christmas cheer from parang music , many heading to the beaches , to church, a neighbor, family member or just taking in the moment to just relax is a delightful feeling by many. Lots are still rushing with last minute painting, changing curtains or looking to cook up a large meal for family members and friends. Ham, Turkey, Pastelles, Puncha Creme and Black Cake sharing and many enjoying a good lime is a traditional moment that never gets old. Everything is a lime in Trini style but with Christmas limes everyone wants to participate as you are guaranteed a glass of ginger beer, sorrel or Puncha Creme.
This is the time everyone comes around, you get that call from everyone to wish you a Happy Christmas. Everyone wants a taste of Grandma Black Cake because you know she has that extra special touch that makes everyone wants more and more and trust me that cake wont last more than one day.
Christmas is here and each year brings around a joy that brings everyone around. This is a taste of my Christmas, hope everyone is enjoying the cheer.
